NEPVA is a regional organization of spinal cord injured or diseased veterans. However, we are concerned about all citizens' disabilities and welcome the involvement in our activities of anyone who is interested. For this reason, we have created, in addition to our regular (Life) voting membership, the membership categories of Affiliate and Honorary.
Life - voting members must be veterans of military service who have a disability from a spinal cord injury or disease. Life membership is free of charge to eligible veterans.
Affiliate - members can be any person, disabled or not, who is an interested contributor to NEPVA and who applies for such membership. There is an annual fee for Affiliate membership.
Honorary - membership is bestowed by nomination and by vote of the NEPVA Board of Directors upon persons who make significant contributions of time and effort toward the goals to which PVA is committed.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Your DD 214 Discharge Form is now required with your PVA Membership Application. To obtain a copy of your DD214, visit: http://www.archives.gov/veterans/military-service-records/
Membership in the Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA) is available to individuals who: suffered a spinal cord injury as a result of trauma or disease; who served in the Armed Forces and whose separation from such service was under other than dishonorable conditions; and who are citizens of the United States of America.
The list that follows is illustrative of injury and diseases of the spinal cord and cauda equina but is not all-inclusive. In the event an individual applies for membership with a diagnosis not specifically included on the list, the information in question will be referred to the PVA Executive Director for appropriate consideration and decision.
