NEPVA Attends Dr. Chirico-Post’s Retirement Dinner
By Craig Cascella, Vice President

NEPVA representatives were pleased to recently attend VISN-1 Network Director, Dr. Jeannette Chirico-Post’s retirement gala. Attending with me were Chapter Treasurer Charles Schena and Government Relations Director Debra Freed. The night was filled with much laughter, reflection of her accomplishments, and heartfelt sentiments.

There was a capacity turnout for the event, including many senior officials within the VA Boston Healthcare System, family, friends, and colleagues. Dr. Post has been a staunch supporter of NEPVA and veterans issues, notably those issues concerning veterans using the SCI clinics within VISN-1. While NEPVA President Ken Medeiros was unable to attend, I read a note on his behalf which mentioned his heartfelt appreciation for all she had done during her tenure to assist NEPVA in its mission to deliver quality healthcare for our members. On behalf of the Chapter, I presented Dr. Post with a plaque inscribed, “In Grateful Appreciation for your Commitment and Dedication to all Veterans in VISN 1.” The Chapter has happily extended an open invitation for Dr. Post and her husband to attend our annual banquet.

While Dr. Post is retiring, she has pledged to remain in the medical field, continuing to do what she truly enjoys, assisting patients. She will be a fixture at the VA in Providence, RI, in the SCI clinic and also in the neurology department. On behalf of NEPVA and its membership, have a wonderful retirement.
