What to Bring:
Warm
cloths, jacket, rain gear, sweat shirts/pants. NEPVA Anglers Life
Jacket if you have one, if not one will be provided for you. Boaters
bring an extra life jacket or two if you have them. NEPVA Anglers
bring rod/reels tackle if you have them, if not they will be provided.
Boaters be sure to have enough rod/reels tackle for your partner if
needed.
Bringing rain gear and warm
clothing is advisable!
Directions to Motel 6:
Take exit 47E off 91 in Connecticut. If coming from 84
either east or west take the 91 north exit in Hartford to exit 47E. If coming from 91 north of Enfield, Connecticut or the Massachusetts
Turnpike (90) take the 91 south exit, travel into Connecticut
(approximately 15-20 minutes) and then take exit 47E (pay attention when
traveling south as the exit for the East bound traffic is after the
47west exit with oncoming traffic at the exit entrance.
Once to exit the 91 highway go to the first traffic light, get in the
left lane, turn left and the Motel 6 is on your right hand side
(opposite the Red Roof Inn)
Directions to Congamond Lake from the Motel 6:
Turn left out of the parking lot.
At the traffic light turn right onto Hazard Ave. (rt.190)
Travel Hazard Ave into Suffield, CT. for 1.4 miles.
At the intersection turn left onto rt.159.
Go .4 miles to traffic light and turn right onto Thrall Ave.
Drive 1.1 miles to next intersection and turn right onto Bridge St.
Travel on Bridge St. for .7 miles.
Turn right onto South Main St. and make an immediate left onto Mountain
Rd.
Follow Mountain Rd. for 6.7 miles than right onto Babb's Rd.
Follow Babb's Rd for 1.7 miles and the Boat Ramp is on the left.
Total Distance: 12.2 miles
Travel Time: approximately 20-30 minutes
Directions from Interstate Highway 91 (north or south):
Take the route 57 South End Bridge exit, once on the bridge get in
the right hand lane, exit on right after going over the Connecticut
River. Stay in the left lane on the exit and continue left half way
around the rotary making a right unto route 57. (Should you miss rt 57
continue around the rotary making a circle and then make your
correction). Travel to the very end of rt. 57 and take a right. Go to
the second set of traffic lights (Look for Dunkin-Dounts) take a left.
This is rt 57. and this road will twist and wind as you travel from
Feeding Hills into Southwick going up and down several hills. Look for
the Southwick High School and Library on your left, take the next left
unto Powder Mill go approximately one mile and make a sharp right turn,
and then take your next left (.3 miles) unto Sheep Pasture Road. Follow
this road to Point Grove (This may not be marked, but is the left turn
at the bend in the road.) Continue on Point Grove making several large
left bends in the road for approximately 1.5 miles and the Congamond
State ramp is on the right hand side.
